My condolences to the family of my former Commanding Officer, Captain Archer Gordon, United States Navy. Our mutual vessel was the most admirable USS Hassayampa (AO-145) of which I proudly served on from 1960-1963. Captain Gordon was my last commanding officer prior to the end of my enlistment. I honestly dont remember much of him, but I do remember the last and final Change of Command ceremony that was held aboard ship just prior to my leaving a couple months later. Change of Command ceremonies have always been pomp and poise, and rightly so. If I may, I would like to invite family and friends to view two websites that have been created over the last several years for the benefit of former Hassayampa crewmembers and their posterity. With pride, I invite you to visit: www.angelwind.com/hassayampa and www.usshassayampa.com Sincerely, Terry Kuehn Tacoma, Washington USS Hassayampa (AO-145) 1960-1963
