To all those involved with skip, my sincere condolences. I lived across the street from skip and grew up together, went to the same high school and got in trouble together. I have no idea why I just thought of him and decided to look him up only to find he had passed over 10 yrs ago. I'm so sorry and sorry I didn't keep in touch. A great guy. Rest in peace.

I have known Skip since jr. high, but in the 10th grade I dated one of his best friends, Mike Hausle,Skip would come with Mike to visit me at my home in Rainier Beach and my cute little sister Ellen, would hang out with us, soon a budding romance developed,We had a wonderful group of friends, and Max and Sylvia were great about opening their home to us, as well as the Hausles; Hall,Lukacics, Postovit and Allens and many others. Ellen and Skip eventually married and I married another wonderfull, classmate Lowell Reed, although Skip and Ellens marriage ended,He was blessed with two of the most precious, kind, beautiful daughters ever Shannon and Stacey. Im so gratefull that I could be their aunt. Im gratefull that Skip was able to spend more time with his family in the last few years ,I know he enjoyed playing with his grandsons Stephen and Kale. Lowell and I were so sad we werent able to make it to Skips funeral, but we were glad we got to see him a couple times in the last few weeks of his life.He is a good example of a friend, may we all use this as a lesson to not prorastinate, take time for each other now! before its too late he will be missed!

To the little Dutchman from the Mad Russian. Skip-- Linda And I are going to miss you so much along with hundreds of other people whose lives you have touched. You and your mom and dad have given so many good memories to all of us when we were growing up. Everybody went to Skip's house to hangout! Thank you for being such a good friend to me and Linda. Linda and I will cherish the times we had together fishing, playstation and holiday dinners that we shared. I am happy we became almost next door neighbors on Emerald lake and able to spend time together these past years. My wife really enjoyed your sense of humor and you made her into quite a football fan. Thanks CC I was the only one to call you that, for being just you and such a good person to everyone. Linda and I love you very much. Your friends Fred and Linda.

As with everyone else here I will miss Skip too. Life was just more fun with him in it. Just being around him was always a fun, happy time. Strange how whenever he showed up to the family gatherings he just added something, easy going and funny(and always had the stories). I don't know how he did it, but he always seemed to bring an uplifting spirit with him. He is also responsible for my sons, Stephen and Kale, addiction to video games. He bought them a Playstation2. Once he showed them the genius of video games they've never had time to clean anything around the house (thanks alot Skip). Selfishly I will also miss Skip because his grandsons liked playing with him so much, probably because their grandpa had alot of kid in him. Unfortunately he left us too soon, but I will cherish the good times we had with him.

Skip and I met at Rainier Beach High School. We started dating and dated until I moved to California. We continued to 'go together' and when he graduated from Rainier Beach he moved to California and went to college at Fullerton J.C. for a year. A couple years later when we were both back in Seattle we got married. We were married for 7 years and even though it didn't work out in the end. We ended up with 2 wonderful, beautiful, daughters. No matter what, you always have fond memories of your 1st love. I will always have lots of good memories of Skip. We had lots of friends back then, double dates, football games, and just goofing around. So many fun things to remember. I was so happy to see so many of them at the memorial service and later at Jack's and my house. I was also happy to meet a lot of Skip's friends and neighbors that I had never met before. They were such good friends to him and helped him so much. Besides our daughters, Shannon and Stacey, I have to thank Skip for the wonderful relationship I had with his mother Sylvia for all those years. We were able to have her 87th birthday party in his hospital room before he died. Our grandsons Kale and Stephen will miss him very much and so will all his family and friends. Ellen

My sincerest condolences his daughters and to all who mourn the passing of Skip Caddes. I was glad to hear that he was given the gift of having his loved ones there for him at the end of his life. I never met Skip in person, but yet counted him amongst my inner circle of friends. I spent countless hours over the past 10 years speaking with Skip on the phone, mostly during the 6 months of the football season each year, discussing all the pointless detail of each game, player or matchup. Most often the conversation would transform into a wonderful mix of stories about past exploits, children or dogs. Should I ever get around to writing the novel that is in my head, Skip will be immortalized in the retelling of his story of driving his car off the road on the way to the airport, crashing into a lake and leaving the car there in order to make the flight, which he did. He was a warm and generous spirit and he will be remembered and missed.

My heart goes out to all the family and especially Skip's Mom who is my Aunt Ib. I know how much he meant to her and it is very hard to lose a child no matter what their age. I remember visiting and staying with Uncle Max, Aunt Ib and Cousin Skip when we were young. He loved his sports and it was wonderful to see the relationship he shared with his Mom and Dad.

I met Skip around 1980. We became friends immediately. Skip and I started playing golf weekly and hanging out. Skip introduced me to some friends of his from Seattle that lived around Reno / Tahoe area. Ship introduced me to Rick Davis and Dan and Cathy Anderson. I became friends with them quickly and all of us ended up playing golf / poker and even horseshoes together. Skip and I took off on a few day and overnight trips together. We always had a great time and Skip was a blast to be around. Skip loved dogs and his dog Blue was the one he had when I knew him. Blue would go everywhere with Skip. We would go to play Frisbee and Blue would be their with us. I'll always remember our poker games with all the cab drivers. Skip would be at them all. The game would not be complete without Skip being there. Skip and I would always play jokes on one another and on others close to us. The boys that were the closest back then were, Steve Pricer / Rick and Randy Davis / Dan Anderson and a few other cabbies. Skip was one my closest buddies. I'll remember Skip every time I hear Longitudes and Latitudes by Jimmy Buffet. He had the cassette in his VW camper bus. Then the cassette made it to his new Volvo after the bus. Very, very good times. Steve Walsh

What a beautiful obituary, and such an accurate description of Skip. As well as being our neighbor on a very short street, Skip was my morning walking partner. He and Pepper and Sugar and I would head down the hill 6 mornings a week for a brisk 45 minute walk around our division. For the last 5 years we listened to each other. I'd hear about all of his buddies, each with their own special nickname (I just met 'Lilliwaup Steve')and their various escapades. I heard all the stories from Little League, Tahoe, a tiny bit about Ellen and Evelyn and a lot about Stacey and Shannon, the boys and families. Of course I couldn't keep anybody straight, but so often he'd crack up over one of his pranks played on family or friends....you just had to laugh along....and be thankful you weren't the brunt of his practical jokes! He was so worried when his mother fell and was injured last year, thankful that so many family members and friends rushed to her aid in time of need, and that she healed well. Family was very important to him, as were his friends. I count myself so fortunate to have known him, even for such a short time. I'll miss our walks and talks that started each morning off right. Though we only saw our neighbor Skip in the summer when we visited Hoodsport, we established an amazing friendship. Skip was just that kind of person. When we first purchased the lot next door, we had no idea who our neighbor would turn out to be. Imagine our pleasure when we arrived on the first day and he was standing at the fence handing us an extension cord so we could share his electric! We shall miss Skip, and Pepper and Levi.
