When I remember my Grandmother the first thing I think of is sports. Whenever you stopped by to see her there was always a game either on the TV or radio. She loved her sports especially the Sonics and the Mariners, She could tell you anything about the teams or any of the players. And she was very proud of her contacts with the Mariners. I will always remember both her and my father anytime I watch a ballgame. And know now they will both be rooting on the Ms together!

It has been years since I have seen Mildred, especially after she moved to the South end of Seattle. She belonged to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Shoreline, years ago when my husband, Ole, was the Pastor. I still have the cookbook that we did at the church and all the recipes she contributed to it. I remember her with great fondness and I pray that God will bless her and her memory in the hearts of those who mourn her.

Our Grandma was a unique, complex, extraordinary, loving; sports mined and had an internal, external beauty that will never be extinguished from our minds. She had a very adventurous 100 years and now it is time for her to begin her endless journey. She now leaves this world escaping sorrow and pain. She managed to outlive her children, but now will join them in heaven. She will have no fear and be in a place of peace forevermore. The angels have song and now it is time for her to find the light. The moon will rise and the sun will set, however, Grandma we will never forget you. You will always be in our heart until we meet again.

I am a member of Mildred's church and have been visiting her, bringing her food in containers to ease her cooking, and doing a few odd things for her. What I got in return was much more. She was a wonderful friend, we shared many laughs and even tears. Every time I visited her she she needed me to say a prayer. During the last weeks she wanted that prayer for the Lord to take her home. My granddaughter, Anna, adopted her as her great grandma. Mildred will be missed.

My Great Grandma was an amazing person. I loved her dearly and my only regret is that I did not have the chance to get to know her better. But I have the faith that she is in a much better place. She will be missed dearly and will live on in my thoughts.
