Gregory Harold Freelove

Born 12-19-1947 Died 7-1-2019

Greg was the son of Lois Adeline Mobley and George Harold Gregory Knittler and was an only child. 

Greg is survived by his two daughters;  Michelle Freelove and Hope Albert, 6 grandchildren; Ashlee, Brianna, Christoffer, Kristl, Rudy, and Shaelynn and 6 great grandchildren. 

Greg was born and raised in Kent, Washington, and spent a good part of his childhood helping his mom run a small family owned grocery store. Dad graduated from Kent Meridian High School in 1966, and it wasn’t long after that he met, and fell in love with our mom, Marilyn Freelove who he married in September of 1966. Sadly mom passed away just 6 short months ago in December of 2018. 

Dad’s great passions were photography, his love for dogs, and his family.  Dad was dedicated and hard working always putting his family first and was a very good provider for his family, mostly working in sales along with being a business owner. 

Dad loved his dogs, where ever dad was, there was man’s best friend right at his side. He used to show Collie’s early on in life, and toward the end of his life was his little black and white cocker spaniel Dani who never left his side right up until dad took his last breath.

One of dad’s greatest passions was his love for photography.  He would take photos whenever the opportunity presented itself.  Early on he enjoyed developing photos in his very own dark room. His passion for photography is now carried down to his daughter Michelle who also loves photography as well. Nearing what would soon be the end of his life, he loved to go on a random road trip just to capture some pictures and freeze them in time with Michelle who took care of dad over the past six months after mom passed. Aside from photography dad enjoyed sailboats actually having one of his own at one time, along with building remote control airplanes, boats, trains, and cars. Very recently dad had a new curiosity and likeness for drones and his granddaughter, Kristl, had purchased him one for him to fly at the 4th of July family celebration.  Sadly our Lord had a different plan, but the family celebrated in honor of dad by eating his favorite cookie, Oreos and flying a drone, and we know dad was looking down and smiling proudly. 

Dad struggled with health issues for the past few years and the good Lord found it best to take him home so he wouldn’t have to endure anymore suffering. It is in that that I speak for our entire family that we find comfort knowing that dad is now resting in the arms of our Lord Jesus with our mom and multiple other family members right at his side, walking the streets of gold and rejoicing with the choir of angels, for we know that this is not goodbye, but until we meet again. Our Lord says it best: in Revelation 21:4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. Amen. We love you dad always and forever.
