Obituary of Leticia Alvaran Caoile

Leticia Alvaran Caoile, a retired 2nd grade teacher and resident of Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija, Philippines, peacefully lost her battle to cancer on August 21, 2019.

Letty is survived by his children Joel and Rene, Jun and Annie, Jorge Jr. and KwanYin, and Joshua. She is predeceased by her husband, Jorge Sr., and daughter Jessica.

To say that Letty was a warm, loving, courageous, and compassionate person would be an understatement. She did not develop those positive qualities, but rather, we choose to believe that her person may have been the result of the mixture of those qualities. She lived the entirety of her life practicing those virtues to the fullest. Loved and treasured by her own family, she was and still is loved even more by those who were not as close to her, those people whose lives were deeply touched by her contagious warmth, affection, realistic words of wisdom, and of course, hearty cooking.

A warrior at heart,  Letty lived and survived by way of love, courage, and compassion. The second of twelve children, Letty was born July July 15, 1941 in Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija. Her passion for life and love culminated in eloping with Jorge Caoile Sr., a kindhearted, responsible, and affectionate young gentleman whom she met and fell in love with while still a teenaged student at Wesleyan University. Their marriage lasted more than half a century and gave birth to their five children.

Their children would be endowed with the kind of love and courage that defined her person, resulting in festive holidays and birthdays that exempted no one. Widowed in 2011, Letty converted mourning into energy to care for her children and grandchildren whenever the opportunity arose. She led by example. There was never a job too large or too small that she would not wrestle. She was a strong, determined and fiercely independent woman.  Up until her last days, Letty remained true to her virtues - lively, thoughtful, understanding, loving, gracious, and courageous.

Letty left us nothing but beautiful memories. Although we will not be able to see her again, her love will still be our guide, and her lovely memories shall never pass away. Her life was a blessing and memory a treasure. She is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.

Please join us celebrating her life on August 28, 2019, between 8:30 AM and 1:00PM AT Edwards Memorial 11020 S. Tacoma Way, Lakewood WA.
