Mrs. Preheim was my orchestra teacher at Waller Road Elementary school. I remember her coming into class and playing the viola. Her playing mezmerized me and made me fall in love with the viola. She is the reason I love music and continue playing viola 17 years later. I remember her visiting Ballou junior high school and telling me that she still kept the birthday card I made for her so long ago. I couldn't believe she kept that after so many years. I am so heartbroken to hear about her passing. May she rest in peace.

Mrs. Preheim was my Viola teacher at Truman Middle School. Her energy was always awesome. I also got to see her perform with the Symphony. She was always wonderful. I got to see her just a few years ago and I got to share how wonderful she was to me and how I enjoyed her such as my teacher. She mentioned her health and how important it was for her to spend this time with her family, especially her daughter. May she rest in peace. I am sending love to her family. ❤

Mrs. Preheim was an inspiration to me when I was her student, ever since I started playing in 5th grade. She inspired me to take part in chamber groups, talent shows, competitions, always making me feel welcome and noticed as a student, helping me feel less afraid to show my talents to others. She was so kind and so sweet to me, always motivating me when I felt more good enough as a violinist. I loved hearing her stories about her time in the symphony, and her professionalism was so inspiring to me. She was an amazing teacher, and I owe all of my knowledge to her. She made me love classical music and everything there was to being a musician. I’m so eternally grateful that I had her as a teacher for most of my elementary, junior high, and highschool years, and I hope to continue playing in my university’s symphony in honor of her. May she Rest In Peace, and may God take care of her and watch over her family.

I was an elementary vocal music teacher in Tacoma and knew Kristy from our interactions through music. I was so saddened to hear of her passing. I hadn't seen her for many years as I've been retired. Kristy was such a dedicated music instructor. She had a wonderful fun and loving spirit. My sincere prayers and condolences to her family.
Sincerely,
Mary Lou (Krebs) Fellows

Kristy was my stand partner off and on for 10 years in the Tacoma Symphony. Playing next to her was pure joy. She was warm, enthusiastic, and humorous, and she was my favorite person to sit next to. I lost touch with her after I left the symphony, but I will always think of her fondly.

Mrs. Preheim was my orchestra teacher from 5th grade all the way until I graduated high-school. She certainly was a memorable person in my life, and many others. Her ability to put on a brave face while her family battled sickness was of her most admirable traits. I always would look forward to her class at the end of the day, and she was a very compassionate instructor and mentor. May she rest in peace, and my sincerest condolences go out to her family.

Mrs. Preheim was my orchestra teacher back in 1992 when I was in 8th grade at Truman Middle School, and for a couple years at Wilson High School. There were times when I was one of her 'difficult' students, and we had our differences here and there, but throughout the few years that she was my teacher, she did touch my heart and I will always hold fond and treasured memories of her. About 10 or 15 years ago, my sister-in-law was her student in Puyallup, and I went to one of her concerts, and got to see Mrs. Preheim and chat with her a little before the concert began. I am thankful for that, and wish that we could have stayed in touch.
My prayers and condolences go out to her family and friends.
Thank you Mrs. Preheim.
